Delete your account
You can delete your account at any time. This page explains how to delete an account in the Dorna app (for customers) and in the Dorna Business app (for businesses), how to ask us to delete it if you cannot use the app, and exactly what is deleted and what is kept.
In short
- Customers: Profile › Personal Information › Account › Delete Account.
- Businesses: Settings › Delete account. An owner's request closes the business with the Dorna team first.
- No app? Email privacy@dornabooking.com.
- Your account stops working at once; the rest of your data is deleted within 24 hours.
Customers: the Dorna app
Delete your account in the app
- Open the Profile tab and tap Personal Information.
- At the bottom, tap Account to open the section, then tap Delete Account.
- Read what will be removed, tick I understand that this action is permanent and cannot be undone, and tap Delete Account.
Your account stops working at once and you are signed out. The rest of your data is deleted automatically within 24 hours. Deletion is permanent: we cannot restore your account, your booking history or your reviews. If you sign up again later with the same phone number, you start with a new, empty account.
If your account owns a business on Dorna, the app asks you to close the business first: see "Business owners" below.
What is deleted
- Your account and sign-in.
- Your profile: name, phone number, email address if you added one, and profile photo.
- Your favorites, recently visited businesses, and notification and location settings.
- The people you saved for group bookings.
- Your devices' registrations for notifications.
- Your reliability record with Dorna and any restriction Dorna placed on your account.
- The customer record each business you booked with kept about you: your visit history with it, your contact details, and any block it set.
- Every booking that is still active is cancelled, and the business is told it was cancelled.
What is kept, and why
- Booking history: businesses keep their record of past appointments (service, team member, date, time, price and status) for their own accounts, without your name, phone number, email, notes, the names of people you booked for, or any link to you.
- Reviews: the stars and highlights you gave stay in the business's rating, without your name, your comment or any link to you.
- Reports you sent about a business stay, without your name or any link to you.
Records that expire on their own
- Security records: to protect the service from abuse, short-lived records of sign-in and request attempts hold a scrambled form (a hash) of your phone number or account number. They are deleted automatically within 30 days.
- Crash reports: if the app crashed while you were signed in, the crash report includes your account number. Crash reports are kept by Google Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days, then removed.
- Technical logs are kept for up to 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Backups: our database backups are kept for up to 28 days, and deleted files can be recovered for 7 days, so your data leaves them within 28 days. Backups are used only to recover from a technical failure.
Businesses: the Dorna Business app
Team members and managers
- Open the Settings tab and tap Delete account.
- Confirm with Delete account.
Your account stops working at once, you leave the business's team, and your sign-in, your profile on the business's page and your photo are deleted. The rest of your account's data is deleted automatically within 24 hours. The business keeps its own booking records, which show the team member who handled each booking, and the photos you added to its gallery.
If the business owner removed you from the team and you can no longer sign in, ask us to delete your account by email (below).
Business owners
- Open the Settings tab and tap Delete account.
- Tap Request deletion.
Closing a business affects its customers and team, so the Dorna team contacts you within 48 business hours (Friday and Saturday are not counted) to close the business with you, and then deletes your account. Until then, everything keeps working.
When the business is closed:
- It no longer appears in the Dorna app, and no one can book it.
- Every booking that has not started is cancelled, and each customer who uses the Dorna app gets a notification saying why. Tell customers you booked by phone yourself.
- Your team loses access to the business.
- The business's customer list, customers' contact details, blocks, photos and files are deleted.
- Customers keep their past visits in their own booking history, marked as no longer on Dorna.
Closing cannot be undone: the business's records are deleted for good.
Ask us to delete your account by email
If you cannot use the app, for example because you uninstalled it or lost your phone, email us. You do not need to reinstall the app.
Email privacy@dornabooking.com with the subject "Delete my account" and:
- Customers: the phone number of your Dorna account.
- Businesses: the email address you sign in with, and the name of the business.
To protect your account from someone else's request, we confirm the request with you before deleting anything: for a customer account, at the account's phone number; for a business account, at the account's email address. We reply within 5 business days. Once you confirm, we delete the account through the same process as the app, within 7 days, and tell you when it is done.
You can also ask us to delete only some of your data, or for a copy of the data we hold about you, at the same address.
